Apple has just released its latest operating system, Mac OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion. The bad news was greeted with the discovery of a new trojan that attacks Mac OSX. That Trojan which carries the name of the OSX / Crisis is reportedly starting to spread.
Apple initially was too confident of the security of its operating system, but not before the security company Kaspersky has warned that the security of Mac OSX system is very fragile and needs to be fixed.
After a successful Flashback trojan attack infects at least a
half-million Macs, so Apple had to pull out a virus-free claims on the
Mac, is now a new trojan called OSX / Crisis it into action.
Trojan OSX / Crisis has the ability to install itself without
requiring user interaction and does not require a user password in every
action.
After installing itself, OSX / Crisis trojan is going to call ‘home’
or nest that uses the IP address (Internet Protocol) 176.58.100.37 every
five minutes to await trojan creator orders.
A security company for the Mac, Intego said it should update its security software to detect and locate the threat of a new OSX / Crisis trojan.
According to Intego, the OSX / Crisis Trojan secretly
installs a backdoor or open security holes, it is the most dangerous
because the OSX / Mac Crisis could take over and complete the mission.
As reported by the VR-Zone yesterday (25.07.2012), OSX / Crisis
trojan is rumored to only work on Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard and Mac OS X
10.7 Lion and do not affect the latest release of Mac OS X 10.8 Lion
Mountain.
